Debris Management in Response to Flooding
At H-GAC’s 2025 Disaster Debris Management Webinar, held on July 24 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, participants discussed disaster debris management in response to recent flooding. The event covered topics including flood debris considerations (riverine vs. coastal), damage assessment, types of flood debris, waterway debris removal programs, environmental impacts, and methods for estimating substantial damage.
Disaster Debris Management Workshop
At H-GAC’s 2025 Disaster Debris Management Workshop, held on July 7 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, attendees explored lessons learned from recent disasters, changes in federal rules, and key procedures for private property debris removal. The workshop also highlighted the role of technology and AI—such as drones, ADMS, asset tracking, and 360 cameras—in debris management operations, and provided foundational guidance on road clearance priorities, safety considerations, and documentation requirements.
