Housing Committee

The Housing Committee reviews and provides recommendations to the H-GAC Board on regional housing challenges. The Committee reports to the Board of Directors.

• To develop and implement unique, innovative, and tailored housing plan visions across the region that supports an expansion of workforce housing options as well as preserve the existing housing stock, while promoting a mix of housing that supports local and regional sustainability and economic competitiveness.
• Shape policies and initiatives that increase affordable, workforce housing, protect existing communities from displacement, and support long-term neighborhood resilience across the region.
• Promote sustainable housing development and equitable growth strategies for both urban and rural communities, including additional capacity for senior housing, temporary workers, and essential workers.
• Establish a robust, strategic housing plan vision that represents public and community input and may be utilized for developer negotiations by our members.
