Lake Conroe Watershed

The Lake Conroe watershed covers parts of Montgomery and Walker counties, and to a lesser extent, Grimes County. Lake Conroe and its tributaries are not currently impaired due to elevated levels of fecal indicator bacteria as is common in many other water bodies throughout the region. However, stakeholders in this watershed have voiced an interest in developing a watershed protection plan to maintain the high standard of water quality in this area.
