Public Servants Lead the Way at H-GAC Leading with Purpose Workshop

HOUSTON, TX – Earlier today, the Houston-Galveston Area Council welcomed local government professionals from across the region for Leading with Purpose: A Comprehensive Workshop—a one-day training designed to strengthen leadership skills and enhance the impact of public servants at every level.

“We are excited to welcome seasoned and newly elected officials and staff from our H-GAC region to our 2025 Leading with Purpose Workshop,” said Cynthia Jones, outreach and government affairs manager. “This workshop offers a space for growth, connection, and leadership development at all levels of public service.”

Whether just starting their careers or bringing years of experience, attendees explored practical tools, real-world strategies, and valuable peer connections to help them lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

The workshop aimed to provide participants with the skills needed to improve leadership capabilities, make principled decisions, and drive meaningful change in their workplaces and the communities they serve.

• Budgeting for local government
• Presiding over meetings
• Effective media communication

The daylong event fostered discussion and shared learning, empowering attendees to return to their roles with new insights and renewed motivation.
