Green Infrastructure Toolkit and Ecosystem Service Benefit Values for Texas Communities This session will dive into the work conducted to quantify environmental benefits and develop Texas-specific ecosystem service benefit values to support the evaluation of nature-based solutions in Benefit-Cost Analysis. Participants will also learn about the Green Infrastructure (GI) Toolkit, including the Implementation Guide and GI Design Sets. The toolkit aims to support the integration of GI solutions to enhance infrastructure resilience and sustainability, ensuring that every GI project starts with the right approach. A hands-on activity will then guide participants through these topics, providing practical experience to apply and utilize in future work.
Plan Integration for Resilience Scorecard™(PIRS™)

Please note that this session will take place during both of the scheduled workshop time slots.

The Plan Integration for Resilience Scorecard™ (PIRS™) guides participants through a practical framework for identifying, evaluating, and aligning community plans to enhance resilience to natural hazards. In this session, participants will learn how to map local spatial policies, analyze potential conflicts or gaps between plans, and use the PIRS Scorecard™ to make informed decisions for risk reduction and resilience.
Community Hazards & Resource Management (CHARM) An interactive session where participants use a GIS-based planning tool to visualize and test land use scenarios in real time. Attendees will collaboratively explore how their decisions on development, conservation, and infrastructure impact community resilience, hazard mitigation, and resource management. Through hands-on mapping and group discussion, participants will gain practical experience with scenario planning to better inform sustainable and disaster-resilient community strategies.
Grant Writing Tips and H-GAC’s Funding Development Program In this session, learn about H-GAC’s new Funding Development Program and explore some helpful tips for writing a successful grant application.
