Study Summary and Goals

The East End Study provides analysis and recommendations for land use and infrastructure investments that create a more walkable, mixed-use and vibrant community. Specifically, the study recommends:

  • Pedestrian- and transit-friendly infrastructure improvements on Navigation Boulevard, Canal Street, Sampson Street, and York Street.

  • A strategy for mixed-use infill of vacant lands in the study area.

  • Improvements to the amenities in Guadalupe Park and the nearby intersection of Navigation Boulevard and Jensen Street.

Study Area Map

The project area is the East End area of Houston, bounded by Harrisburg Boulevard, York Street, and Clinton Drive in the City of Houston. The study area is near both downtown and Buffalo Bayou.
