H-GAC conducted three corridor studies on SH 6.
The first study of SH6 examined the corridor from FM521 to I-10. The purpose of the study was to identify transportation measures that will improve public safety and traffic flow, reduce motorist delay, enhance air quality, and improved pedestrian and bicycle access.

The SH 6 Corridor Access Management Study North project limits include: SH 6 from north of IH 10 at Park Row to SH 6/FM 1960 and Mills Road; and FM 529 from Greenhouse Road to US 290.

A study of transportation improvements to the southern section of State Highway 6 from FM 521 to IH 45 South. The Access Management Study encompassed the communities of Arcola, Alvin, Manvel, Santa Fe, Hitchcock and Bayou Vista; and Fort Bend, Brazoria and Galveston counties.
