2015 Regional Salary and Benefits Survey available
The Regional Salary and Benefits Survey is now available. The survey results include a summary of all positions, the lowest and highest salaries reported, number of cities and incumbents for each position surveyed for all participating cities.
Participants that responded to the survey will receive a free electronic and printed copy. Non-participants may buy an electronic copy for $25 or a bound copy for $45.

Regional Water Conservation at CWI Workshop
Clean water is crucial to our region's environment, economy, and quality of life. Our Clean Waters Initiative (CWI) program offers workshops that help local governments, landowners, and citizens develop effective strategies to reduce pollution in our area waterways.
Regional Water Conservation will be the focus of the next Clean Waters Initiative Workshop.

Workforce Solutions Relocates Baytown, Rosenberg Career Offices
The Gulf Coast Workforce Board and its operating affiliate, Workforce Solutions, are the public workforce system in the 13-county Houston-Galveston region of Texas. Workforce Solutions helps employers meet human resource needs and individuals build careers, so both can better compete in the global economy.
With 24 career office locations across the region, Workforce Solutions' staff helps people find jobs, keep jobs or get better jobs. They offer job search and job matching assistance, career counseling and financial aid for education, training and work support.
Two Career Offices, Workforce Solutions - Baytown and Workforce Solutions - Rosenberg, relocated weeks ago to better serve customers in Harris and Fort Bend counties. The offices will hold their official open house events on October 15th (Baytown) and October 22nd (Rosenberg), as Workforce Solutions celebrates the openings of these relocated offices.

Keeping Us Moving Workshop - Save the Date
This half-day event offers a collaborative forum around topics related to the Livable Centers and Pedestrian/Bicyclist programs at H-GAC. The program will include a luncheon with keynote speaker Adam Thies, former director of planning and development initiatives for the City of Indianapolis.
The workshop will also include two afternoon breakout sessions: Emerging Trends, highlighting technical and policy considerations in transportation planning; and Back to Basics, touching on planning, funding, and H-GAC tools available.

Economic Development Digest Newsletter
H-GAC has re-launched the Economic Development Digest. This quarterly e-mail newsletter by the Gulf Coast Economic Development District provides a snapshot of current economic development trends along with relevant economic forecasts and data for the H-GAC region. Loan Programs Available through H-GAC
H-GAC currently manages a suite of business loan programs including the Drayage Loan Program, Small Business Administration 504, and the Economic Development Administration Revolving Loan Fund.
The Drayage Loan Program helps short haul trucking companies/owner-operators purchase fuel-efficient and cleaner running trucks. More information can be found here. Anyone interested in applying can call 832-681-2512.
The SBA 504 Loan Program provides long-term business expansion financing for real estate, construction, and equipment purchases. Additional information is available online or by calling 832-681-2592.
The EDA Revolving Loan Fund assists businesses impacted by Hurricane Ike. Visit www.gcedd.org for more information.

The agenda and attachments for the Board of Directors meetings are posted on our website the week before each meeting. Board meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month on the second floor at 3555 Timmons Lane, Houston, Texas 77027.
