Houston-Galveston Area Council has established a partnership with Brazoria County to update the Brazoria County Thoroughfare Plan. The intent of the Thoroughfare Plan is to look at Brazoria County's transportation network holistically, rather than by individual segments or areas, and to develop strategies and guidelines for maximizing the effectiveness of the county-wide transportation system.
The Brazoria County Thoroughfare Plan will provide the County with an updated planning tool that can be used to manage, guide and design a transportation network that improves connectivity, mitigates congestion and accommodates new development and growth throughout the County.
This 12-month study began in April 2019 and will conclude in March 2020.
