Transit Planning

In the coming decade, the Houston region can expect an additional one million new residents. Much of this growth will occur in suburban areas located 20 to 25 miles from the urban core of downtown Houston. While some job growth has occurred in suburban areas, jobs will continue to be concentrated in several large activity centers including Downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center, Houston Galleria and the Energy Corridor. Improving our regional transit system is essential to meet our region's growth.     

Walker County Public Transportation Plan

Walker County leaders are working with H-GAC and TxDOT to develop a Public Transportation Plan for the county. The first stage in the process includes a Public Transportation Survey of the residents of Walker County. The survey runs through January 2012 and is available below:
