Galveston Island Trollies Expected to Run Mid-May
Photo courtesy of City of Galveston
The City of Galveston is preparing for tourist season! Four rubber wheel trollies arrived on the Island in March and they brought their charm with them. The rubber wheel trollies will be used to run downtown and along the Seawall from Stewart Beach to Moody Gardens until the rail cars are restored.

The goal is to encourage both residents and visitors to park their cars and ride the trollies around the island to help minimize traffic congestion.

The trollies are expected to run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and riders will be able to ride for free this summer. The City of Galveston is hoping to have them in service by mid-May.
Discounted Parking Offered Downtown
H-GAC partnered with SP+ Parking to offer downtown carpoolers discounted parking rates (20-40% off) through its Commute Solutions program.
