Get Involved!
Public participation is an integral part of transportation planning. Awareness and involvement in governmental processes are critical to successful transportation planning and programming. When the public is engaged in the process, its feedback helps assure that projects address community needs. Likewise, the public gains a better understanding of the tradeoffs and constraints associated with transportation planning.

Subregional Planning Initiative (SPI) Program for the East Port Area
The goal of H-GAC’s Subregional Planning Initiative (SPI) Program is to enable the Houston-Galveston region and its local communities to successfully develop and protect economic vitality, transportation assets, environmentally sensitive areas, green space and quality communities that attract new people and businesses to the region. A key component is coordinating transportation investments with local plans and policies.
These meetings will present implementation strategies and solicit citizen input on actions needed/desired to fulfill the transportation-land use vision for the East Port area. Participants will have an opportunity to "vote on" land use and transportation strategies they think are desirable for creating livable centers and corridors in the East Port area.
