Public participation is an integral part of transportation planning. Awareness and involvement in governmental processes are critical to successful transportation planning and programming. When the public is engaged in the process, its feedback helps assure that projects address community needs. Likewise, the public gains a better understanding of the tradeoffs and constraints associated with transportation planning.

H-GAC will provide for reasonable accommodations for persons attending H-GAC functions. Requests from persons needing special accommodations should be received by H-GAC staff 24 hours prior to a function. The Draft 2010-2011 Unified Planning Work Program was made available to the public on May 8, 2009 which began the 30-day comment period scheduled to officially end on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend this important meeting to provide comments to H-GAC.
The UPWP outlines the proposed tasks and estimated costs associated with conducting the region’s transportation planning and research for the next two years.

Draft Chambers County Transit Plan
H-GAC, in cooperation with Chambers County and the Texas Department of Transportation, held two public meetings to solicit input and present recommendations for the Chambers County Transit Plan. The Chambers County Draft Transit Plan Officials Workshop took place on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in Anahuac, Texas, and the Chambers County Public Meeting was held on Monday, May 11, 2009 in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Documents and information from these meetings are available at the links below.
Make your voice heard! Your input is vital to the success of these proposed transit improvements.
