Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom Programs for the Houston Texas Urbanized Area - Open Call for Projects
H-GAC and METRO conducted an ongoing Call for Projects for Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom Program grants Sept-Nov. A pre-proposal workshop was held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at H-GAC offices. Project submittals were due by November 16, 2011. FM 1092 Access Management Study Public Meeting, Round 2
H-GAC held a public meeting on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Missouri City Community Center in Missouri City, TX from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The purpose of this public meeting was to present the short-term and long-term recommendations and solicit feedback from people who use or own property along the corridor. Public Meeting for an Amendment to the 2011-2014 TIP and to the 2035 RTP Update
A public meeting was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Texas Department of Transportation Houston District Offices, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77251, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. This Amendment would program $438 million of funding on projects throughout the 8-county TMA. The public comment period began on Friday, September 23, 2011, and ended on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 5:00 pm.
FM 1764 Access Management Study
A second public meeting to present recommendations regarding safety and mobility improvements to FM 1764 from SH 146 to 14th Street in Texas Citywas held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City. State Highway 105 Access Management Study
A second public meeting regarding safety and mobility improvements to SH 105 was held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Austin Elementary School, 14796 Highway 105 East in Conroe from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The study area covers SH 105 between Loop 336 in Conroe and US 59 in Cleveland, and crosses Montgomery, San Jacinto and Liberty Counties. Regionally Coordinated Transportation Plan (RCTP)
The public comment period extended from August 1, 2011 until Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Four public meetings were held around the region to give the public more opportunities to review and provide comments on the RCTP: at the H-GAC offices (8/16), Baytown (8/23), Sugar Land (8/25) and Conroe (8/30).

FM 1092 Access Management Study
H-GAC conducted a public meeting to solicit comments from people who use the FM 1092 corridor on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Quail Valley Middle School in Missouri City. The corridor study area is the southern section of FM 1092 from SH 6 South to Dove Country Road. FM 1092 is a major north-south arterial which provides connections between US 59 to the north and SH 6 to the south. For information regarding this study, contact Christy.Willhite@h-gac.com.

Draft 2012-2013 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) Public Meeting
H-GAC hosted a public meeting on the Draft 2012-2013 Unified Planning Work Program on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the H-GAC offices. The 30-day public comment period ran from Thursday, June 9, 2011 through Monday, July 11, 2011 at 5 p.m. Any questions regarding the UPWP should be directed to Mr. Jeff Kaufman, Transportation Coordinator, at (832) 681-2533, or by email to jeff.kaufman@h-gac.com. Colorado Valley Transit District Sub-Regional Transit Service Planning & Coordination Study Public Meeting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing Colorado Valley Transit District (CVTD) services and recommend adjustments that will better serve the growing public transportation needs of Austin, Colorado, Waller, and Wharton counties.
The public comment period began on Thursday, May 26 and ended on Thursday, June 30. A public meeting was held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Way, Waller Center, 531 FM 359 S., Brookshire, TX 77423. TIP Amendment 27 Public Meeting
A public meeting on TIP Amendment 27 was held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Texas Department of Transportation, Houston District offices, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston District Auditorium from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The public comment period ran from Thursday, May 19, 2011 until Friday June 17, 2011 at 5:00 pm.
TIP Amendment 27 programed funds allocated to the TxDOT Houston District by the Texas Transportation Commission to advance projects of specific importance to the state and that generally promote economic opportunity. The Houston District has identified four (4) reconstruction and added capacity projects that can be advanced using this funding. The amendment also supplements funds awarded by the Transportation Policy Council for the construction of two (2) direct connectors from IH 10W to SH 99 Segment ‘E’ with additional state funds from the Texas Mobility Fund. This meeting also served as a public meeting to receive public comments on the June 2011 Out-of-Cycle Revisions to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for FY 2011-2014.

A public meeting regarding safety and mobility improvements to BF 1960 was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Humble, TX from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The study area encompasses BF 1960 (old Business 1960), which runs from FM 1960 just west of Lee Road in Houston and along 1st Street in Downtown Humble to FM 1960 east of Humble. Regional Goods Movement Public Meetings
Four evening public meetings were held (5:30-7:30 p.m.): April 25 in Pasadena, April 26 in Jersey Village, April 27 in Beasley/Kendleton, April 28 in Texas City. The meetings featured a panel of private sector freight stakeholders and community leaders and feedback was invited from attendees. Public Meeting for Amendment 16 to the 2011-2014 TIP
A public meeting was held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the H-GAC offices, 3555 Timmons Lane, 2nd Floor Conference Room A at 5:30 p.m. The public comment period began on Monday, March 21, 2011 and ended on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 5:00 pm. Amendment No. 16 programmed Proposition 12 and Proposition 14 funds to develop projects relieving congestion on segments of the state’s Top 100 Most Congested Corridors within the Houston-Galveston metropolitan area. This funding included right-of-way acquisition in support of near-term improvements to the IH 610/US 290 interchange.

Regional Transit Framework Study Public Meeting
H-GAC conducted the Regional Transit Framework Study (RTFS) over the past year to identify long-range regional transit needs and future transit opportunities for the region. The study will define a framework or blueprint for developing a regional transit system appropriate for the community.
A project open house was held on Tuesday November 9, 2010 to review analysis of four regional transit scenarios developed for alternative concepts. Two webinars were held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 and Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Four scenarios were derived through a community outreach process that included focus groups, telephone surveys, community presentations, and formal public meetings and workshops. Public Meeting for SH 6 Access Management Study, North
Final recommendations of the SH 6 Access Management Study, North were presented at a public meeting on Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. at Copperfield Church, 8350 Highway 6 North, Houston 77095. This meeting also initiated a formal public comment period, which ended on Friday, December 3, 2010. Comment Period for the 2040 Regional Aviation System Plan (RASP)
The RASP Study Team has completed the draft study report and conducted three public meetings during October in Houston, Sugar Land, and Conroe. The public comment period began on Tuesday, October 19th and ended on Friday November 19th at 5:00 p.m. For more information, see www.h-gac.com/aviation.
Regional Goods Movement Study Public Meetings
The Regional Goods Movement Study began in April 2010 and will be completed in February, 2012. Four public meetings were held during October in an open-house format in Conroe, Baytown, Lake Jackson, and Rosenberg. Public Meeting on the Draft 2035 RTP Update and Conformity Finding
Two public meetings were held on the Draft 2035 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Update and its new air quality conformity finding for revisions to the 2011-2014 Transportation Improvement Program and the 2035 RTP. The meetings were held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Montgomery County Comissioners' Courthouse and at the H-GAC offices on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. The 30-day public comment period began on Tuesday, September 28th and ended on Thursday, October 28th at 5:00 p.m.
Public Meeting for an Amendment to the 2011-2014 TIP
Amendment No. 2 included sponsor requested additions and modifications to the 2011-2014 TIP that was approved by the Transportation Policy Council in June. These requests included the advancement of sixteen (16) locally funded projects into the 2011-2014 TIP and the delay of two projects from the 2011-2014 TIP to the short-range component of the 2035 Regional Transportation Plan (Listed below).
The public comment period began on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 and ended on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 5:00 pm. A public meeting was held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the H-GAC offices.
