The H-GAC regional 9-1-1 system represents the cooperative efforts of eight counties, 24 public safety answering points (PSAPs), 224 emergency service providers, and numerous telephone companies.
The regional system currently provides enhanced 9-1-1 services whereby caller information is displayed when 9-1-1 is dialed. On landline phones this includes the caller's phone number and location.
The 9-1-1 Program also provides administrative services for member governments. This includes providing calltaker training, maintenance of 9-1-1 databases, accounts payables, and public education materials distribution.
