Reliever Airports

The Houston-Galveston region has 10 reliever airports. These airports relieve congestion at Bush Intercontinental and Hobby commercial service airport by providing an alternative for general aviation. Reliever airports typically have at least 100 based aircraft. There are 24 reliever airports in Texas and 270 in the nation.

D.W. Hooks (DWH)

David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport is privately owned and operated by Jag Gill. The airport is located in Harris County, Texas approximately 5 miles southeast from the Tomball central business district, 11 miles west of the Spring central business district, and 30 miles northwest of Houston. The airfield lies south of FM 2920 and west of Stuebner Airline Road.

Ellington Airport (EFD)

Ellington Airport is publicly owned by the City of Houston and operated by the Houston Airport System. The airport is located in Harris County, Texas approximately 20 miles southeast of Houston. The airfield lies east of Interstate 45 and south of Beltway 8.

Houston Southwest (AXH)

Houston Southwest Airport is privately owned and operated by James Griffith, Jr. The airport is located in Fort Bend County, Texas approximately 1 mile west from the Arcola central business district and 26 miles southwest of Houston.  The airfield lies south of SH 6 and west of FM 521.

La Porte Municipal (T41)

La Porte Municipal Airport is publicly owned and operated by the City of La Porte. The airport is located in Harris County, Texas approximately 2 miles west of the La Porte central business district and 25 miles southeast of Houston.  The airfield lies north of Spencer Highway. 

Conroe North Houston Region (CXO)

Conroe North Houston Region (formerly Lone Star Executive Airport) is publicly owned and operated by Montgomery County. The airport is located in approximately 5 miles northeast of the Conroe central business district and 25 miles north of Houston. The airfield lies east of Interstate 45 and north of Loop 336. 

Pearland Regional (LVJ)

The airport is located in Brazoria County, Texas approximately 10 miles southwest from the Pearland central business district and 26 miles southwest of Houston. The airfield lies east of SH 35  and north of County Road 130.

The airport is located in Galveston County, Texas approximately 4 miles southwest of the Galveston central business district and 50 miles southeast of Houston. The airfield lies south of Interstate 45 and west of Hope Boulevard.
