STAR*Map Status Report June 4, 2008
Since April 1, 2008, there were a total of 5,632 changes made to STAR*Map.
The latest version of STAR*Map contains ESRI Shapefile of Road (Street Centerlines), Deleted_arcs table and Split_arcs table. The Deleted_arcs table and Split_arcs table are dBASE (.dbf) tables. 2008 CenterPoint Energy (formerly HL&P) Address Points are in an ESRI Shapefile format. There are 1,751,701 Address Point records and they are as current as of March, 2008. The number of changes to address points for this quarter increase 20,755.

STAR*Map_metadata replaces the original var_domain.xls. Projection information and a data dictionary are included in the metadata. Metadata is best viewed using ESRI's ArcCatalog application.
This version of STAR*Map is in an ESRI Shapefile format. It includes all of the roads in Harris County, Fort Bend County, Brazoria County, Waller County, Montgomery County, Wharton County, Galveston County, Liberty County, Austin County, and Chambers County.
The total number of changes to STAR*Map for 1st quarter is 7,728 . Added arcs can be found by querying for GDC_FLAG = A. There are 868 new segments. A total of 6,860 arcs were modified by either a spatial move or attribute change. They have GDC_flag = M. "I" in GDC_flag field represents split arc.
Arcs that were split can be identified by querying for Split_date > 20071231.AsDate in Split_Arcs table. Deleted arcs can be found by querying for Deleted_date > 20071231.AsDate in Deleted_Arcs table. Date field is queried in the format YYYYMMDD.AsDate in ArcView.
Ten valid attribute values are included in the GDC_CLASS field. SM_SUBTYPE has numeric attribute values that are associated with (related to) the GDC_CLASS field.

Updates were received from Greater Harris County 911, City of Houston and Montgomery County 911.
