For the 2008-2009 acquisition, three products are proposed for acquisition:
Aerial Imagery
For the 2008 imagery acquisition, the Geographic Data Committee's Aerial Subcommittee has chosen Sanborn Mapping Company as the aerial vendor of choice.
The imagery deliverables include:
One (1) foot pixel imagery for over 7,500 square miles of the H-GAC region including Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Montgomery and Waller counties small portions on the western edge of Liberty and Chambers are also being acquired
Six (6) inch pixel imagery for certain areas or municipalities within Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston and Montgomery Counties

Oblique Imagery
For the 2008 oblique imagery acquisition, the Geographic Data Committee's aerial subcommittee has chosen Pictometry as the aerial vendor of choice.
The imagery deliverable will include:
The oblique imagery is proposed to be acquired sometime between February and May 2008.
Oblique imagery data is scheduled to be available to the general public by January 2009.
Clients who request oblique imagery will receive all regional oblique imagery data for one flat fee - specific areas will not be sold. Clients will need to account for the size of the data. Based upon early estimates, the data is going to be approximately two (2) terabytes in size and can be read from either a NAS server or portable USB drive used as a server. Clients will need to purchase the viewing software from the vendor (Pictometry).

LiDAR Remote Sensing Data
For the 2008 LiDAR imagery acquisition, the Geographic Data Committee's aerial subcommittee has chosen Merrick &Company as the vendor of choice.
The imagery deliverable data will include:
Over 3,695 square miles will be acquired which includes Harris County and its watersheds
A Horizontal Accuracy of <= 67cm RMS
A Vertical Accuracy of +/- 9.25cm RMSE A Ground Sample Distance (GSD) of 1 Meter
File formats:
Full feature mass DTM
Bare earth DTM
3-D break-lines
One foot contour
Ten (10) foot pixel bare earth DTM in Grid format
Bare earth SEM in Grid format
Hillshade for both the DTM and the SEM
The proposed acquisition date for the LiDAR data is to occur sometime between March and June of 2008.
It has not been determined if all data will be bundled together for sale due to the large size of the data; most likely, various file formats for the deliverable will be sold separately at different rates.
Since the data will not be fully delivered until late 2009, the LiDAR data will not be made available to the public until the second quarter of 2010.
