We'll be providing training on local planning for planning commissioners and interested elected officials on June 13.
On June 18 we'll be hosting a meeting to update local officials and the private sector on latest developments in clean vehicles.
On June 26 we will present our annual workshop for newly elected city officials.
Each of these important opportunities is featured in this issue of Regional Focus. These events and others like them throughout the year are part of H-GAC's efforts to insure that local governments have information to meet the needs of our dynamic region. Knowledge is power. I hope that you will plan to be a part of these learning opportunities. Jack Steele Executive Director |

Effective immediately, the new name is Texas Stream Team, with a tagline, "Caring for Our Waters." The Houston-Galveston Area Council's Clean Rivers Program will now be referred to as a Texas Stream Team Partner.

The Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission (now Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) established Texas Watch to involve citizens in certified water quality monitoring, and it was coordinated through Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). If you are interested in the Texas Stream Team program or to become a certified Water Quality Monitor in the H-GAC Region, please contact Gayla Stock, Texas Stream Team Coordinator, at gayla.stock@h-gac.com.
