What is a Lambert and how big is a Lambert grid?

Imagery data is tiled according to the Lambert grid system. Each Lambert covers approximately a 4 square mile area. A copy of the Lambert Grid in GIS data format can be downloaded here.

Are the aerial photos projected to a coordinate system?

The coordinate system and projection for this imagery is: State Plane, Texas South Central Zone (FIPS code 4204), Feet, NAD83, GRS 1980.

Will the aerial include metadata?

Yes, metadata will be included for each deliverable and is available on the aerial webpage as well.

Do you have any way to cross check the image by address?

Yes, by using ESRI software.

Is your imagery orthorectified?

Yes, the Aerials are orthorectified.

How long does it take to get the aerials to us?
down-arrow

Most orders are processed within 1 to 2 business weeks. Credit card purchases are processed upon submittal of the order, while POs and checks must be received and cleared before completing the order. All orders are either sent via FTP download link, mailed on a physical storage device, or are made available for pickup at the H-GAC office. You will be contacted once your order has been completed. At that time if you wish to pickup your order we can make arrangements for you to do so, otherwise any orders on a physical storage device are mailed to the address provided with the order.

Is the photography true color and not infrared or black & white?

Yes, our imagery is True/Natural Color (aka RGB), with some years offering CIR (aka color-infrared) in addition. H-GAC does not offer any panchromatic (aka black and white) aerial imagery products. For imagery samples, see the list below:

Could you please tell me what time of year you capture the aerial imagery for the Houston-Galveston

How do I make out the check and what other paperwork do you need to make sure you get the money?

Checks should be made payable to the Houston-Galveston Area Council. Please note on the check that it is for "H-GAC Aerial Imagery-Data Services". When paying by check, mail the check the H-GAC address specified when placing your order.

What would the cost be for educational use?

The same as for commercial use.
