Services and Programs

The Houston-Galveston Area Agency on Aging is responsible for managing Older Americans Act (OAA) and other state funded programs such as congregate and home-delivered meals, homemaker or housekeeping services, transportation, respite care, information and assistance, legal/benefits counseling, case management, personal care, emergency response, residential repair, nutrition education, ombudsman advocacy, and elder abuse awareness. If you need more information about program availability, please contact your local service provider or an AAA staff member.

This website contains information about aging related organizations, programs and services in the Houston-Galveston area, including the Aging Programs Advisory Committee (APAC), volunteer opportunities, brochures and pamphlets, and Requests for Proposals.

We have also posted a directory of services (such as hospitals, HMOs, assistance programs and nursing facilities) offered by other companies and organizations in our 12 county area. If you are doing research on the Internet, we have compiled a list of aging and senior related links which might be helpful.
