Clean water is crucial to our region's environment, economy, and quality of life. The Houston-Galveston Area Council is launching the Clean Waters Initiative (CWI) to enable leaders throughout the region to be better stewards of this important resource. To kick off the CWI, we will be holding a series of workshops throughout the region to help local governments, landowners, and citizens develop effective strategies to reduce pollution in our area waterways.
Some of these workshops will focus on specific issues such as leaking septic tanks and pollution from urban development or agriculture, while others will address broader issues of watershed protection planning and stormwater permitting. A schedule of the workshops is shown below. H-GAC is also available to make individual presentations or tailor workshops to the needs of specific areas.
If you have questions or would like to schedule a workshop, please contact Kathleen Ramsey at (713) 499-6653 or e-mail: kathleen.ramsey@h-gac.com
