2008 Solid Waste Implementation Grants
H-GAC has received solid waste grant funds from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for solid waste implementation programs. For FY08 solid waste implementation grants, $1,378,598 is available for local implementation projects. The local government implementation funds are intended to provide grant funding for projects which will provide a direct and measurable effect on reducing the amount of waste going into regional landfills, by diverting various materials from the municipal solid waste stream for beneficial use, or by reducing waste generation at the source.
