H-GAC has contracted with Stericycle (formerly Philip Services Corporation) for the collection, transportation and disposal of household hazardous waste (HHW) within the 13-county H-GAC region. The contract will cover both permanent HHW facilities and one-day collection events within the thirteen counties.

Financial Assistance for Collection EventsHHW collection programs may be sponsored either by local government, public interest groups or private firms. Financial support may be obtained from a variety of sources that can include: local or regional chemical manufacturers, corporations, civic groups or grants. Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) sponsors a Municipal Solid Waste Program through H-GAC, in which HHW program and projects are eligible for funding.
