The Parks and Natural Areas (PNA) Subcommittee's mission is to "assist in the development of public policy initiatives to expand parks and natural areas in the thirteen-county H-GAC region for the improved quality of life, habitat, and water quality."
The PNA committee is a subcommittee of the Natural Resources Advisory Committee (NRAC), a thirty-member committee appointed by the board of H-GAC. The NRAC's purpose is to advise the H-GAC Board of Directors and staff on environmental and natural resource issues.
To that end, the PNA Subcommittee serves as a forum for discussion of issues related to parks and natural areas, promotes the PNA Award Program, and maintains a regional inventory of parks. The PNA subcommittee facilitates information exchange and planning efforts between various stakeholders and collaborators to protect and preserve parks and natural areas across the region.
