Galveston Bay Estuary’s CCMP, called The Galveston Bay Plan, was developed to address 17 priority problems, including habitat loss and degradation, water and sediment quality, freshwater inflows, species protection, and public health.
Charting the Course to 2015: Galveston Bay Strategic Action Plan was created to update the CCMP, identify new or emerging problems, and reevaluate priority goals.
A revision to The Galveston Bay Plan is now appropriate to continue protection and conservation of the estuary. Efforts will focus on identifying new issues facing Galveston Bay that were not addressed by The Plan or previous updates, and present them in an easily accessible format.
