The Gulf Coast Economic Development District (GCEDD) is the federally designated economic development planning body for the 13-county Gulf Coast State Planning Region.

EDA Revolving Loan Fund

The EDA Revolving Loan fund, designed to help businesses and communities recover from the impacts of Hurricane Ike, is now underway.

Loans can be used to help businesses purchase equipment, repair or replace damaged buildings, and establish working capital.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) provides a framework for regional economic planning.

Entities pursuing grants from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) need to demonstrate how their proposed projects align with the CEDS and meet regional needs and priorities. The recently revised CEDS is available for download by clicking on the thumbnail to the left.

Funding Clearinghouse

The GCEDD is developing a funding clearing house to help communities find loans and grants to support their community and economic development projects. Examples of funding resources include farmers markets and agriculture, historic building preservation, and rural hospitals and clinics. The Clearinghouse will be regularly updated and expanded.

The GCEDD Board

The GCEDD Board of Directors meets four times a year. The 20 member Board includes representatives from local governments, economic development corporations, community development organizations and the private sector. Board meetings are open to the public and include presentations on a variety of topics from assessing the viability of rural communities to identifying sources of venture capital.
