 The HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA LOCAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (H-GALDC) was created by H-GAC to promote economic development and job creation through the SBA 504 loan program. The SBA 504 loan program provides businesses with long-term, fixed rate financing for major fixed assets. HURRICANE IKE H-GAC is working with the Texas Department of Rural Affairs to program nearly two billion dollars in Disaster Recovery Community Development Block Grant funding. The first round of funding included $814 million dollars in housing and infrastructure funding. The second round of funding is approximately one billion dollars and is allocated in two phases. The Method of Distribution for the second phase of round 2 will allocate the remaining $969 million and is currently under development in close coordination with the H-GAC Hurricane Ike Committee.
